This recipe makes a thin sauce. If you want a thick sauce, use 4 tablespoons butter and 4 tablespoons flour.

1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash cayenne pepper
1 cup milk
Blend flour, salt, and pepper with the melted butter. 
Gradually add milk. 
When mixture is smooth, stir over medium heat until it thickens.
