Roasted Garlic Recipe

February 8th, 2007 by Grandma Jeanne in Breads, Appetizers

Recipes from Grandma

1 to 4 bulbs garlic
1 teaspoon olive oil for each bulb of garlic
Salt
Pepper
French bread slices

Carefully peel away paper skin around the garlic bulb, leaving just enough to hold garlic together.

Trim top of garlic bulb about 1/2 inch to expose cloves.

Place stem end down on 12-inch square of aluminum foil.

Drizzle each bulb with 1 teaspoon oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Wrap securely in foil. Place in pie plate or shallow baking pan.

Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees or until garlic is very tender when pierced with a toothpick or a fork.

Cool slightly.

To serve, gently squeeze garlic out of cloves. Spread on French bread.
